High Intensity Interval Study shows IMMEDIATE 17.9% Endurance Gain with ATP Extreme

In Jan 2015, ATP Nutritionals completed an in-house study with highly trained functional fitness athletes. The subjects were put through a grueling High Intensity Interval workout – once without ATP Extreme, and once with ATP Extreme.

The total reps completed by the test subjects INCREASED BY 17.9% after taking just 1 dose of ATP Extreme.

In addition, it was noted that the performance increase was much more significant during the later stages of the test workout where lactic acid fatigue is normally a major factor.

WORKOUT DESCRIPTION

5 ROUNDS OF:

  • As many Thrusters as possible in 1 minute + 3 Minutes Rest
  • Using 135 lb Barbell

If you are unfamiliar with a “thruster,” it is one of the most despised functional fitness movements because it is so difficult and tiring. It basically combines a front squat and a shoulder press into one fluid motion. We chose this movement for this study because it requires the use of multiple, major muscle groups and is very taxing on the body.

STUDY GUIDELINES

  • Eight advanced functional fitness athletes were asked to complete a difficult thruster interval workout – once without ATP Extreme, then 1 week later again with ATP Extreme.
  • The athletes only took ATP Extreme on the day of the second workout. They did not take ATP Extreme between the workouts.
  • The athletes were asked to complete the thruster workout after a full day of rest and to complete it as the first workout of the day to make sure they were fresh going into each test workout.
  • The athletes were also asked to keep diet and other supplements the same during the study.

STUDY RESULTS

For the entire workout, the athletes were able to complete
17.9% MORE REPS
when on ATP Extreme.

In Round 4, the athletes were able to complete
21.8% MORE REPS
when on ATP Extreme.

In Round 5, the athletes were able to complete
30.5% MORE REPS
when on ATP Extreme.

OUR CONCLUSIONS

  • ATP Extreme provides a SUBSTANTIAL endurance gain during high intensity anaerobic intervals.
  • ATP Extreme dramatically slows the rate of fatigue during high intensity anaerobic intervals.
  • ATP Extreme significantly improves recovery between high intensity anaerobic intervals.
  • ATP Extreme does not require a loading phase to improve performance.
